The Nasatir School of Percussion is headed up by 57-year music industry veteran Cary Nasatir. In addition to writing about percussion for various music magazines, Cary authored the popular book Praise and Worship Drumming...How To Play In Church fromHal Leonard Publishing. Nasatir is a consultant and percussion coach to three San Francisco Bay Area schools, a popular clinician for Ludwig Drums, and the musical director for the Jenny Lin Youth Orchestramore info. He is also an Artist Endorser for Vic Firth Sticks & Mallets, AquarianDrumheads, Sabian Cymbals, and Rhythm Tech Percussion Instruments.
What makes our teaching facility unique is that we have so many different instruments in the teaching studio. Certainly having a full array of percussion instruments on hand helps the student learn... but in addition, we have a bass and keyboard in the lesson room. This gives the student valuable rhythm section experience that would otherwise take years to develop.
Mr. Nasatir studied percussion in his home town of Chicago with Roy C. Knapp, Jose Bethancourt, Casper Boghosian, Haskell W. Harr, and conducting with Manual Piculas and Maurice Golden.
